Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Significance: Śravaṇa of Śiva-kathā and receiving sadupadeśa/jñāna is framed as a direct means to upliftment and mokṣa (anugraha), paralleling tīrtha-yātrā fruits in Purāṇic idiom.
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
It highlights Shiva’s liberating function: through right instruction and the gift of true knowledge, beings are lifted from bondage and led to moksha—showing that liberation is ultimately enabled by Shiva’s grace working through upadeśa and jñāna.
Saguna worship of Shiva—especially Linga worship—purifies and prepares the devotee to receive upadeśa and jñāna; the verse frames liberation as the fruit of Shiva’s guidance, which devotional practice makes the seeker fit to receive.
Seek sat-upadeśa (authentic guidance), practice japa of the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and support it with Shaiva disciplines like vibhūti (tripuṇḍra) and Rudrākṣa as aids to steadiness and remembrance of Shiva.
