स इत्थं निर्जितककुबेकराड् विषयान्प्रियान् । यथोपजोषं भुंजानो नातृप्यदजितेन्द्रियः

sa itthaṃ nirjitakakubekarāḍ viṣayānpriyān | yathopajoṣaṃ bhuṃjāno nātṛpyadajitendriyaḥ

ഇങ്ങനെ ദിക്കുകളുടെ അധിപന്മാരെ ജയിച്ച് പ്രിയഭോഗവിഷയങ്ങൾ നേടിയിട്ടും ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ അവ അനുഭവിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ ഇന്ദ്രിയങ്ങൾ ജയിക്കപ്പെടാത്തതിനാൽ അവന് ഒരിക്കലും തൃപ്തി ലഭിച്ചില്ല।
