अध्याय १७ — देवपलायनं, विष्णोः प्रतियुद्धं, जलंधरक्रोधः

युद्धेन ते महादैत्य प्रसन्नोऽस्मि महान्भवान् । न दृष्टस्त्वत्समो वीरस्त्रैलोक्ये सचराचरे
yuddhena te mahādaitya prasanno'smi mahānbhavān | na dṛṣṭastvatsamo vīrastrailokye sacarācare
ഹേ മഹാദൈത്യാ! ഈ യുദ്ധംകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ നിന്നിൽ പ്രസന്നനാകുന്നു; നീ സത്യത്തിൽ മഹാനാണ്. ത്രിലോകത്തിൽ ചരാചര സകല സത്തകളിലും നിന്നെപ്പോലൊരു വീരനെ ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.
