FAQs

It highlights that victory in cosmic conflict arises from divine alignment and empowered support; in Shaiva understanding, such worldly triumph is secondary to the higher aim—taking refuge in Pati (Śiva) beyond the cycles of gain and loss.

Though the scene centers on Devas and Viṣṇu, the Shiva Purana frames all power as ultimately rooted in Śiva; worship of the Liṅga (Saguna focus leading to Nirguna realization) is presented as the stable refuge beyond the shifting fortunes of battle.

The practical takeaway is to seek inner strength through Śiva-upāsanā—japa of the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and steadying disciplines—rather than relying solely on external force.
