(Sandhyā-caritra-varṇanam) — “Narration of Sandhyā’s Austerity and Encounter with Śiva”
atha sā purato dṛṣṭvā manasā ciṃtitaṃ prabhum | prasannavadanaṃ śāṃtaṃ mumodātīva śaṃkaram

It highlights that sincere inner contemplation (dhyāna) culminates in the grace of direct presence (darśana) of Śiva—experienced as serenity and bliss—showing the Shaiva path where devotion and meditation purify the mind and reveal the Lord.
The verse emphasizes Saguna experience—Śiva seen with a peaceful, gracious face—yet it arises from inner meditation, which in Linga-worship is cultivated through focused japa, offerings, and one-pointed awareness leading to the Lord’s felt presence.
Practice dhyāna with mantra-japa (especially the Panchākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to steadily contemplate Śiva; the takeaway is to combine mental remembrance with steady worship so the mind becomes śānta (tranquil) and receptive to grace.
