Devas’ Hymn: Śiva as Parabrahman, Māyā-Śakti, and Giver of Karmic Fruits
kartustvaṃ maṃgalānāṃ hi svaparaṃ tu mukhe vibho | amaṃgalānāṃ ca hitaṃ miśraṃ vātha viparyayam
Satī (addressing Lord Śiva)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
The verse affirms Śiva as Pati—the supreme Lord whose grace can transform outcomes: even what appears inauspicious can be redirected toward the devotee’s true welfare and liberation.
Linga/Saguna worship trains surrender to Śiva’s governance of events; the devotee seeks mangala not merely as worldly success but as Śiva’s right ordering of life toward dharma and mokṣa.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with intentional surrender, coupled with simple Śiva-upacāra (water offering) to seek Śiva’s mangala and inner steadiness amid reversals.
