Dakṣa’s Appeal to Viṣṇu and the Teaching on Disrespect to Śiva
svakarmaviddhi tadyena samarthatvena jāyate | na tvanyaḥ karmaṇo dātā śaṃ bhavedīśvaraṃ vinā

It affirms that while karma shapes one’s capacities and circumstances, the actual dispensation of karmic results is under Īśvara—Śiva as Pati—so liberation requires grace and surrender, not mere self-effort.
Linga-worship centers devotion on Śiva as the sovereign Lord who governs karma; approaching Saguna Śiva through pūjā, mantra, and reverence aligns the devotee toward Īśvara, the true bestower of karmaphala and the remover of bondage.
Practice Panchākṣarī japa—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—with the attitude of offering all actions and their fruits to Śiva; complement with simple Linga-abhiṣeka and Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) as reminders that Īśvara, not ego, governs results.
