Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
It portrays Śiva and Satī in a gentle, human-like līlā, showing that the Supreme (Pati) can appear in an intimate, accessible form for the devotee—without losing transcendence—thus nurturing bhakti and inner recollection.
The verse supports Saguna-upāsanā: devotees approach Śiva through perceivable forms and narratives. This complements Liṅga worship, where the same Śiva is revered as the formless-within-form (nirguṇa-sarūpa) made approachable through a sacred symbol.
It suggests self-observation (svādhyāya) and mindful reflection: while doing japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), contemplate the ‘seer’ within and offer the sense of ‘I’ to Śiva—turning ordinary seeing into remembrance.
