Viṣṇu’s Hymn and the Petition for Śiva–Satī’s Protection
चिंतयस्वात्मनात्मानं स्वलीलाधृतविग्रहः । एकस्त्वं ब्रह्म सगुणो ह्यंशभूता वयं त्रयः
ciṃtayasvātmanātmānaṃ svalīlādhṛtavigrahaḥ | ekastvaṃ brahma saguṇo hyaṃśabhūtā vayaṃ trayaḥ
ഹേ സ്വലീലകൊണ്ട് രൂപം ധരിച്ചവനേ! നിന്റെ അന്തർബോധംകൊണ്ട് നിന്റെ ആത്മസ്വരൂപത്തെ ധ്യാനിക്ക. നീയേ ഏക സഗുണ ബ്രഹ്മം; ഞങ്ങൾ മൂവരും നിന്റെ അംശമാത്രം।

Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It affirms Shiva as the one supreme Lord (Pati) who freely assumes form through līlā, and it directs the seeker toward inner contemplation of the Self—devotion and knowledge united—recognizing other divine functions as dependent, partial manifestations.
By calling Shiva the one Saguna Brahman who takes an embodied form, the verse supports worship of Shiva in accessible manifestations—especially the Linga—as a sacred focus through which the formless truth is approached.
A clear takeaway is dhyāna: steady contemplation (ciṃtanam) on Shiva within and as the chosen form; in practice this pairs well with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and focused meditation on the Linga as the manifest support for inner realization.
