FAQs

The verse frames marriage not merely as personal desire but as loka-kalyāṇa—an act aligned with dharma that supports cosmic harmony; in Shaiva thought, righteous worldly order can serve as a foundation for devotion and eventual liberation.

In the Satīkhaṇḍa narrative, events surrounding divine unions and their consequences establish the field in which Saguna Shiva’s leelas unfold; devotion to Shiva (often centered on the Liṅga) is shown to protect and restore order when dharma is upheld.

No specific rite is prescribed in this line; the practical takeaway is dharmic resolve—undertaking sacred commitments with purity of intention, supported by Shiva-bhakti such as japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and regular Liṅga-pūjā.
