This is a colophon marking the completion of a chapter, emphasizing that even exalted deities like Viṣṇu and Brahmā approach Śiva through stuti (devotional prayer), highlighting Śiva as the supreme refuge (Pati) in Shaiva understanding.
By framing the chapter as Viṣṇu and Brahmā’s prayer to Śiva, it supports Saguna-upāsanā—approaching Śiva through name, form, and praise—often expressed in Purāṇic settings through Linga worship and formal stotras.
The takeaway is stotra-japa and śaraṇāgati (surrender): recite Śiva-stutis with devotion, ideally alongside Panchākṣarī japa (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) as a steady contemplative practice.
