Nārada and Himālaya: Discourse on Pārvatī’s Signs and Destiny
हिमालय उवाचा । हे मुने नारद प्राज्ञ विज्ञप्तिं कांचिदेव हि । करोमि तां शृणु प्रीत्या तस्त्वं प्रमुदमावह
himālaya uvācā | he mune nārada prājña vijñaptiṃ kāṃcideva hi | karomi tāṃ śṛṇu prītyā tastvaṃ pramudamāvaha
ഹിമാലയം പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ മുനി നാരദാ, ഹേ പ്രാജ്ഞാ! എനിക്ക് ഒരു അപേക്ഷയുണ്ട്. ദയവായി പ്രീതിയോടെ കേൾക്കുക; പിന്നെ എനിക്ക് ആനന്ദം വരുത്തുക (യോഗ്യ ഉപദേശത്തോടെ).

The verse highlights the Shaiva ideal of approaching a realized sage with humility and devotion, seeking guidance that leads the mind toward auspiciousness and spiritual clarity—an essential step for bhakti to mature into right understanding.
Though the Linga is not named here, the narrative tone shows the pathway to Saguna Shiva worship in the Purana: receiving proper instruction from a guru-like authority (Nārada) so that devotion and ritual are aligned with dharma and oriented toward Shiva’s grace.
The implied practice is śravaṇa (reverent listening) to sacred instruction; this is the foundation for later Shaiva disciplines such as japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and disciplined worship with bhasma and rudrākṣa when taught in context.
