Nārada and Himālaya: Discourse on Pārvatī’s Signs and Destiny
brahmovāca | ekadā tu śivajñānī śivalīlāvidāṃvaraḥ | himācalagṛhaṃ prītyāgamastvaṃ śivapreritaḥ
Brahma
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga account; it introduces a divinely prompted mission to Himācala’s abode—typical Purāṇic setup for Devī-Śiva marriage/tapas narratives.
Significance: Frames pilgrimage/approach (āgama) as Śiva-preraṇā: sacred journeys and meetings occur by divine grace, not mere human planning.
It highlights Śiva as Pati (the supreme Lord) who inwardly prompts the movement of enlightened beings; the devotee’s journey is shown as guided by divine grace rather than mere personal desire.
By emphasizing Śiva’s active guidance (Saguna Śiva as compassionate Lord), it supports devotional worship where the devotee seeks direction through prayer, Linga-pūjā, and remembrance of Śiva’s līlā.
Follow divine prompting through daily Śiva-smaraṇa and japa of the Panchākṣarī mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), approaching sacred places and holy company with prīti (devotional joy).
