sarvathā kuru kalyāṇaṃ devānāṃ bhaktavatsale | menāmanorathaḥ pūrṇaḥ kṛtaḥ kuru harasya ca
Himālaya (Himavān), addressing Pārvatī (Umā)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Umā
Role: nurturing
The verse highlights auspicious action (kalyāṇa) guided by devotion: when intentions are aligned with dharma and bhakti, divine grace helps fulfil worthy desires—here, the family’s wish connected to Hara (Śiva) and the cosmic good.
By naming Hara, the verse points to Saguna Śiva—Śiva approached with attributes and relational grace. In the Purāṇic frame, such grace is often sought through heartfelt prayer and righteous resolve, the same devotional mood that underlies Liṅga-worship.
The practical takeaway is to cultivate kalyāṇa through bhakti—regular japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a prayer for auspiciousness and right fulfilment of dharmic intentions.
