Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Phalaśruti emphasizes śravaṇa/pāṭha with śauca and niyama as a direct means to attain Śivaloka (proximity to Pati through grace).
Type: stotra
It teaches that regular śravaṇa (devotional hearing) of Shiva’s sacred narrative—done with inner purity and focused mind—purifies the soul and leads to Shiva’s grace, culminating in attainment of Shiva-loka.
Hearing and arranging recitation are acts of Saguna-bhakti: one approaches Shiva through His names, deeds, and revealed teachings, which steadies devotion and directs consciousness toward Shiva as the supreme Pati.
Daily disciplined listening/recitation (niyama-yukta śravaṇa/pāṭha) with śauca (purity) and one-pointed attention; it can be paired with simple Shaiva observances like mantra-japa (e.g., Om Namaḥ Śivāya) before or after the reading.
