पार्वत्याः यात्रासंस्कारः तथा पातिव्रत्योपदेशः / Preparations for Girijā’s Auspicious Journey and the Teaching on Pātivratya
गिरिजाम्भूषयामास नानारत्नांशुकैर्वरैः । द्वादशाभरणैश्चैव शृंगारैर्नृपसम्मितैः
girijāmbhūṣayāmāsa nānāratnāṃśukairvaraiḥ | dvādaśābharaṇaiścaiva śṛṃgārairnṛpasammitaiḥ
അവൻ ഗിരിജ (പാർവതി)യെ നാനാരത്നങ്ങൾ പതിപ്പിച്ച ഉത്തമ വസ്ത്രങ്ങളാൽ ഭൂഷിപ്പിച്ചു; കൂടാതെ രാജ്ഞിക്ക് യോജിച്ചവിധം ക്രമീകരിച്ച പന്ത്രണ്ടു ആഭരണങ്ങളും ശൃംഗാരങ്ങളും അണിയിച്ചു।

The verse highlights bhakti expressed as reverent service (seva): honoring the Divine Mother with auspicious adornment signifies inner purity, dignity, and readiness for sacred union with Shiva’s grace.
Although the verse describes Parvati, it supports Saguna devotion central to Shiva Purana: honoring Shiva’s Shakti (Parvati) is inseparable from worship of Shiva, and such devotion naturally culminates in Linga-centered reverence in Shaiva tradition.
It suggests offering-based devotion: perform simple, pure adornment and upachara (flowers, clean cloth, fragrance) to Shiva-Parvati, while mentally reciting the Panchakshara—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as an inner ornament of the mind.
