It highlights that even exalted beings can be captivated by Māyā; liberation in a Shaiva Siddhanta sense comes from turning to Pati (Shiva) who alone grants clarity beyond delusion.
The verse underscores the need for taking refuge in Shiva’s manifest grace (Saguna Shiva, commonly worshipped as the Linga), by which the mind is steadied and the veiling power of Māyā is transcended.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with steady dhyāna on Shiva, supported by Shaiva disciplines like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha to cultivate detachment from deceptive appearances.
