FAQs

It highlights Śiva as Pati (the supreme Lord) whose compassionate acceptance and reassurance dissolve fear and restore inner order—an image of grace (anugraha) that leads beings from agitation toward peace.

The verse presents Saguna Śiva—personal, responsive, and merciful—who listens to prayers and grants protection. Linga-worship similarly approaches Śiva as accessible through devotion, where surrender brings steadiness and refuge.

A practical takeaway is śaraṇāgati (taking refuge) through japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—to calm the mind, coupled with a simple prayer for protection, mirroring how the devas are consoled and made peaceful.
