दिवि भुव्यंतरिक्षे च सर्वलोकभयंकराः । अनर्थसूचकास्तात त्रिविधास्तान्ब्रवीम्यहम्
divi bhuvyaṃtarikṣe ca sarvalokabhayaṃkarāḥ | anarthasūcakāstāta trividhāstānbravīmyaham
ദിവിയിലും ഭൂമിയിലും അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിലും സർവലോകങ്ങളെയും ഭീതിയിലാഴ്ത്തുന്ന ഭയങ്കര ലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ ഉദിക്കുന്നു. ഹേ താത! അനർത്ഥം സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ആ അപശകുനങ്ങൾ മൂന്നു തരമാണ്—ഞാൻ അവ പറയുന്നു.

The verse frames worldly fear and disorder as “anartha-sūcaka” (signals of misfortune) and teaches discernment: disturbances appear across the three realms, reminding devotees to turn from anxiety toward Shiva-centered dharma, purification, and steady devotion.
When ominous conditions arise in the three realms, Shaiva tradition counsels taking refuge in Saguna Shiva—worship of the Shiva-Linga with mantra and offering—because the Linga is the stabilizing presence of Pati (Shiva) who protects the bound soul (paśu) amid changing signs and fears.
