प्रकृतितत्त्व-विचारः / Inquiry into Prakṛti (Nature/Śakti) and Śiva’s Transcendence
महादेवः पुनर्दृष्ट्वा तथा तां संयतेद्रियाम् । स्वसेवने रतां नित्यं सदयस्समचिंतयत्
mahādevaḥ punardṛṣṭvā tathā tāṃ saṃyatedriyām | svasevane ratāṃ nityaṃ sadayassamaciṃtayat
Sūta Gosvāmī (narrating the deeds of Lord Śiva)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It highlights that Śiva’s grace (anugraha) responds to steadfast devotion joined with self-restraint (saṁyama). Parvatī’s disciplined senses and constant seva become the inner qualification that draws Mahādeva’s compassionate attention.
Parvatī’s “service to Him” reflects Saguna Śiva-upāsanā—personal worship expressed through daily attendance, reverence, and dedicated practice. In Linga worship, the same spirit appears as regular pūjā, abhiṣeka, and remembrance performed with controlled senses and a focused heart.
The verse implies disciplined devotion: practice sense-restraint, keep a daily Shiva-seva routine (pūjā/abhiṣeka), and maintain steady japa—especially the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as a simple, consistent sādhanā.
