Lord Shiva (inferred, rebuking an offender within the Kumārakhaṇḍa narrative)
Tattva Level: pasha
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga passage; it is a rebuke condemning the act of ‘consuming’ Śiva’s vīrya as improper.
The verse condemns irreverence toward Śiva’s sacred power and highlights that adharma and disrespect (aparādha) obstruct grace; in Shaiva thought, purity of intention and restraint are essential for Śiva’s anugraha (liberating favor).
Linga-worship centers on reverence for Śiva as Pati and for His śakti as holy; the verse reinforces that approaching Saguna Śiva requires humility and dharmic conduct, not exploitation or profanation of what is sacred.
A practical takeaway is aparādha-kṣamā (seeking forgiveness), followed by Panchākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with disciplined conduct; if performing pūjā, maintain śauca (purity) and offer bhasma/flowers with devotion rather than irreverent acts.
