Brāhmaṇī-Svargati-Varṇana: Account of a Brāhmaṇa Woman’s Ascent to Heaven
gauruvāca | vatsa sarvaṃ vijānāmi karmādhīnāḥ prajā iti | tathāpi māyayā grastā duḥkhaṃ prāpnomyahaṃ punaḥ

The verse highlights a key Shaiva insight: beings suffer due to karma, yet Māyā can still veil clear knowledge; liberation requires Shiva’s grace and steady sādhanā beyond mere intellectual understanding.
It supports Saguna worship as a practical remedy for Māyā—through devotion to Shiva in the Linga, the mind becomes purified, karma is attenuated, and the veiling power that produces recurring sorrow is gradually overcome.
A direct takeaway is disciplined japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with Shiva-pūjā (Linga-abhisheka) to weaken Māyā’s grip and reduce karmic sorrow.
