Vishnu’s Thousand-Name Hymn and Shiva’s Grace
ज्ञात्वेति नेत्रमुद्धृत्य सर्वसत्त्वावलम्बनात् । पूजयामास भावेन स्तवयामास तेन च
jñātveti netramuddhṛtya sarvasattvāvalambanāt | pūjayāmāsa bhāvena stavayāmāsa tena ca
ഇങ്ങനെ മനസ്സിലാക്കി അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ കണ്ണ് അർപ്പിക്കാൻ നിശ്ചയിച്ച് സർവ്വജീവികളുടെ ആശ്രയമായ ശിവനെ ശരണം പ്രാപിച്ചു. ഭക്തിഭാവത്തോടെ പൂജിക്കുകയും അതേ ഭാവത്തിൽ സ്തുതിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

It teaches that true worship begins with recognition (jñāna) of Śiva as the sustaining refuge of all beings; from that realization, bhakti naturally expresses itself as pūjā (reverent offering) and stuti (praise).
In the Kotirudra context of sacred worship, the devotee approaches Śiva as accessible (saguṇa) through pūjā and hymns, while inwardly acknowledging His all-supporting reality—an integration of form-based devotion with deeper metaphysical refuge.
A simple sādhana is implied: first recollect Śiva as the support of all (mental surrender), then perform pūjā with bhāva and recite a stotra or the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) as heartfelt praise.
