Sthala Purana: Narrative transition: after Brahmā’s instruction, the divine sages proceed toward Dakṣa’s sacrificial venue—setting the stage for the Dakṣa-yajña conflict that foregrounds Śiva’s transcendence over ritualism without devotion.
Offering: naivedya
It shows how even exalted sages act in accordance with divine instruction (Brahmā’s words), moving the narrative toward Dakṣa’s sacrifice—an episode that highlights the limits of ego-driven ritual and the need for Shiva-bhakti and humility.
By leading into the Dakṣa-yajña account, it sets the contrast between external sacrificial display and true reverence for Saguna Shiva (often approached through the Linga), emphasizing that worship must be grounded in devotion rather than status or pride.
The takeaway is to pair any ritual with inner surrender—mentally repeating the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and maintaining humility—so outer acts do not become mere prideful performance.
