चन्द्रोऽपि बलवद्भाविवशान्मेने न तद्वचः । रोहिण्यां च समासक्तो नान्यां मेने कदाचन

എന്നാൽ ചന്ദ്രനും ദൈവവശത്താലും തന്റെ ശക്തമായ ആസക്തിയാലും ആ ഉപദേശം അനുസരിച്ചില്ല. രോഹിണിയോടേ മാത്രം അത്യന്തം ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടു, മറ്റു ഭാര്യമാരെ ഒരിക്കലും സമമായി കരുതിയില്ല.
