पिता यज्ञानामसुरो विपश्चितां विमानमग्निर्वयुनं च वाघताम् । आ विवेश रोदसी भूरिवर्पसा पुरुप्रियो भन्दते धामभिः कविः ॥
pitā́ yajñā́nām ásuro vipaścitā́ṃ vimā́nam agnír vayúnaṃ ca vāghátām | ā́ viveśa rodasī bhū́ri-varpasā puru-priyó bhandate dhā́ma-bhiḥ kavíḥ ||
അഗ്നി യജ്ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവാണ്; വിപശ്ചിത് (ദർശനവാൻ) വിപ്രർക്കു അസുര (പ്രഭു-ശക്തിമാൻ) ആകുന്നു; വാഘതന്മാർക്കു (സ്തുതികാർക്കു) വിമാനം (മാപം-പരിധി)യും വയുനം (വിവേകവിധി, മാർഗം)യും ആകുന്നു. ധാരാളം തേജസ്സോടെ അവൻ റോദസീ—ഇരു ലോകങ്ങളിലേക്കും—പ്രവേശിച്ചു; പലർക്കും പ്രിയനായ കവി തന്റെ അനേകം ധാമങ്ങളാൽ (പ്രകാശ-നിവാസങ്ങളാൽ) ദീപ്തനാകുന്നു.
