आ नो देवः सविता साविषद्वय ऋजूयते यजमानाय सुन्वते । यथा देवान्प्रतिभूषेम पाकवदा सर्वतातिमदितिं वृणीमहे ॥
ā́ no devaḥ savitā́ sāviṣad váya ṛjúyate yajamānāya sunvaté | yáthā devā́n prati-bhū́ṣema pā́kavad ā́ sarvatā́tim áditiṁ vṛṇīmahe ||
ദേവനായ സവിതൃ ഞങ്ങൾക്കായി ജീവന്റെ പൂർണ്ണത പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ—നേരെയോടുന്ന, യജമാനനായ സോമപീഡകനുവേണ്ടി. പാകവത് (പരിപക്വചേതനയുള്ളവൻ) ആയി ഞങ്ങൾ ദേവന്മാരെ യഥാവിധി അലങ്കരിച്ച് സമീപിക്കേണ്ടതിനായി—സർവതാതിക്കായി ഞങ്ങൾ അദിതിയെ വരിക്കുന്നു.
