Sukta 1.173
एवा हि ते शं सवना समुद्र आपो यत्त आसु मदन्ति देवीः । विश्वा ते अनु जोष्या भूद्गौः सूरीँश्चिद्यदि धिषा वेषि जनान् ॥
evā́ hí te śáṃ sávanā samudrá ā́po yát ta ā́sú mádanti devī́ḥ | víśvā te ánu jóṣyā bhūd gáuḥ sūrī́ṃś cid yádi dhiṣā́ véṣi jánān ||
അതെ, നിശ്ചയം, നിന്റെ സവനങ്ങൾ (സോമപീഡനം) സമുദ്രത്തിൽ മംഗളമാണ്—ദേവികളായ ആപഃ (ദിവ്യജലങ്ങൾ) തങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളിൽ നിന്നിൽ മദിക്കുന്നപ്പോൾ. അപ്പോൾ എല്ലാം നിനക്കു അനുജോഷ്യമായി (സമ്മതമായി) മാറുന്നു; ഗൗഃ (പ്രകാശകിരണം) പോലും—നീ ധിഷാ (പ്രേരിത ബുദ്ധി)കൊണ്ട് ജനങ്ങളെ തേടി നയിച്ചാൽ—സൂരിമാർ (പ്രകാശിത നേതാക്കൾ) പോലും നിന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്നു.
