धर्ममर्थं च कामं च सर्वान्वारक्षसांपते ।भजतेपुरुषःकालेत्रीणिद्वन्द्वानिवापुनः ।।6.63.9।।
dharmam arthaṃ ca kāmaṃ ca sarvān vā rākṣasāṃ-pate |
bhajate puruṣaḥ kāle trīṇi dvandvāni vā punaḥ ||6.63.9||
ഹേ രാക്ഷസാധിപാ! മനുഷ്യൻ കാലാനുസരിച്ച് ധർമ്മം, അർത്ഥം, കാമം—ഇവ മൂന്നും ഒരുമിച്ച്, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ കുറഞ്ഞത് സമതുലിതമായ ജോഡികളായി—ആചരിച്ച് നേടണം.
"Through the destruction of Rama, I will bring happiness to you who are worthy of happiness. I will collect Rama along with Lakshmana and all the Vanara leaders and devour all."
Dharma is the regulating principle for human aims: artha and kāma are legitimate only when pursued in right measure and at the right time, not through adharma.
Counsel is given to Rāvaṇa about proper human goals and timing, implicitly criticizing his adharma-driven choices.
