अकम्पनवधः — The Slaying of Akampana

विनेदुश्चयथाप्राणंहरयोजितकाशिनः ।चकर्षुश्चपुनस्तत्रसप्राणानपिराक्षसान् ।।6.56.37।।
vineduś ca yathā-prāṇaṃ harayo jita-kāśinaḥ |
cakarṣuś ca punas tatra sa-prāṇān api rākṣasān ||6.56.37||
വിജയോന്മാദത്തിൽ വാനരന്മാർ മനസ്സുതൃപ്തിയാകുവോളം ഗർജിച്ചു; അവിടെ വീണ്ടും ജീവനോടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന രാക്ഷസന്മാരെയും പിടിച്ചു വലിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയി.
Then Akampana seated in the chariot drawn by fast moving horses, assailed the Vanaras with a network of arrows.
Victory tests dharma: celebration and treatment of defeated foes must remain restrained; the epic’s broader ethic cautions against cruelty after triumph.
After gaining the upper hand, the Vānara forces shout in triumph and seize Rākṣasas who are still alive.
Collective morale and courage—though the verse also implies the need for disciplined conduct after victory.
