यथाशरदिमेघानांसिञ्चतामपिगर्जताम् ।नभवत्यम्बुसंक्लेदस्तथाऽनार्येषुसौहृदम् ।।।।

Transliteration

yathā śaradi meghānāṃ siñcatām api garjatām | na bhavaty ambu-saṅkledas tathā 'nāryeṣu sauhṛdam || 6.16.14 ||

Translation

ശരദ്കാല മേഘങ്ങൾ ഇടിമുഴക്കി മഴ പെയ്താലും ദീർഘകാലം നനവ് നിലനിൽക്കാത്തതുപോലെ, അനാര്യരിൽ സൗഹൃദത്തിന്റെ ഊഷ്മാവ് സ്ഥിരമാകുന്നില്ല.
