नैवंविनष्टाःशोच्यन्तेक्षत्रधर्मव्यवस्थिताः ।वृधदिमाशंसमानायेनिपतन्तिरणाजिरे ।।।।
naivaṃ vinaṣṭāḥ śocyante kṣatradharmavyavasthitāḥ |
vṛddhim āśaṃsamānā ye nipatanti raṇājire ||
ക്ഷത്രധർമ്മത്തിൽ സ്ഥിരനായി രണഭൂമിയിൽ വീണു, മാന്യമായ ഉയർച്ചയെ ആഗ്രഹിച്ച് പോരാടുന്നവർ ‘നശിച്ചവർ’ എന്നു കരുതി ഇങ്ങനെ വിലപിക്കേണ്ടതല്ല.
"Those kings who follow duty steadfast, desiring advancement, fearless in the battlefield, who die in that way should not be mourned."
