शरांश्चसुमहावेगान्सूर्यरश्मिसमप्रभान् ।तदुपोढुंमहद्युद्धमन्योन्यवधकाङ्क्षिणोः ।।।।परस्पराभिमुखयोर्दृप्तयोरिवसिंहयोः ।

śarāṃś ca sumahāvegān sūryaraśmisamaprabhān | tad upoḍhuṃ mahadyuddham anyonyavadhakāṅkṣiṇoḥ || parasparābhimukhayor dṛptayor iva siṃhayoḥ ||

സൂര്യരശ്മികളുപോലെ ദീപ്തിയുള്ള അതിമഹാവേഗശരങ്ങൾ സജ്ജമായി; മഹായുദ്ധം അടുത്തുവന്നു—പരസ്പരം അഭിമുഖമായി, ഒരുത്തൻ മറ്റൊരുത്തന്റെ വധം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന, ഗർവിത സിംഹങ്ങൾ നേർക്കുനേർ നിൽക്കുന്നതുപോലെ.
