सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः
हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्
जिघांसन्तीं ततस्तां तु ज्वलदग्निशिरोरुहाम्।।।।सव्यमुष्टिप्रहारेण पराजित्य सुभैरवाम्।प्रदोषकाले प्रविशं भीतयाऽहं तयोदितः।।।।
jighāṃsantīṃ tatas tāṃ tu jvalad-agni-śiroruhām |
savya-muṣṭi-prahāreṇa parājitya su-bhairavām |
pradoṣa-kāle praviśaṃ bhītayāhaṃ tayoditaḥ ||
പിന്നീട്, അഗ്നിപോലെ ജ്വലിക്കുന്ന മുടിയുള്ള അത്യന്തം ഭീകരയായ അവള് എന്നെ കൊല്ലാന് പാഞ്ഞുവന്നു. എന്റെ ഇടത് മുഷ്ടിപ്രഹാരത്തോടെ അവളെ പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തി; അവള് ഭയം ഉണര്ത്താന് ശ്രമിച്ചിട്ടും സന്ധ്യാസമയത്ത് ഞാൻ നഗരത്തിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശിച്ചു.
