न हि धर्मात्मनस्तस्य भार्याममिततेजसः।स्वचारित्राभिगुप्तां तां स्प्रष्टुमर्हति पावकः।।।।

na hi dharmātmanas tasya bhāryām amita-tejasaḥ | sva-cāritrābhiguptāṁ tāṁ spraṣṭum arhati pāvakaḥ ||

അപരിമിതതേജസ്സുള്ള ധർമ്മാത്മാവായ രാമന്റെ ഭാര്യ, സ്വന്തം ശീല-സതിത്വം കൊണ്ടു സംരക്ഷിതയായ ആ ദേവിയെ പാവകൻ സ്പർശിക്കുവാൻ യുക്തിയില്ല.
