ततः पक्षिनिनादेन वृक्षभङ्गस्वनेन च।बभूवुस्त्राससम्भ्रान्तास्सर्वे लङ्कानिवासिनः।।5.42.1।।
tataḥ pakṣininādena vṛkṣabhaṅgasvanena ca |
babhūvus trāsasambhrāntāḥ sarve laṅkānivāsinaḥ ||
പിന്നീട് പക്ഷികളുടെ കൂകലും വൃക്ഷങ്ങൾ ഒടിയുന്ന ഘോഷവും കേട്ട്, ലങ്കാനിവാസികൾ എല്ലാവരും ഭീതിയാൽ വിറച്ചു ആശയക്കുഴപ്പത്തിലായി.
