महर्षिशब्दमतुलं स्वार्जितै: कर्मभिश्शुभै:।यदि मे भगवानाह ततोऽहं विजितेन्द्रिय:।।।।
maharṣiśabdam atulaṃ svārjitaiḥ karmabhiḥ śubhaiḥ | yadi me bhagavān āha tato 'haṃ vijitendriyaḥ ||
“എന്റെ തന്നെ സ്വാർജിത ശുഭകർമ്മങ്ങളാൽ ലഭിച്ച അതുല്യമായ ‘മഹർഷി’ എന്ന പദവി ഭഗവാൻ എനിക്ക് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ഇന്ദ്രിയജയിയായെന്നു എന്നെ ഞാൻ കരുതുന്നു.”
