Lamentation in Ayodhya after Daśaratha’s death

बाष्पपर्याकुलजना हाहाभूतकुलाङ्गना।शून्यचत्वरवेश्मान्ता न बभ्राज यथापुरम्।।।।

കണ്ണീരാൽ കലങ്ങിയ ജനങ്ങളും ‘അയ്യോ, അയ്യോ’ എന്നു നിലവിളിക്കുന്ന ഗൃഹസ്ത്രീകളും, ശൂന്യമായ ചത്വരങ്ങളും വീഥികളും വീടുകളും നിറഞ്ഞതോടെ—നഗരം മുൻപുപോലെ ശോഭിച്ചില്ല.
