इदं तावद्यथाकाममीश्वरस्य कृते कृतम्।रामस्य तु परित्यागे न हेतु मुपलक्षये।।।।

idaṃ tāvad yathākāmam īśvarasya kṛte kṛtam | rāmasya tu parityāge na hetum upalakṣaye ||

ഇത് എങ്കിലും ഇഷ്ടാനുസൃതമായിട്ടാണ് ചെയ്തതെന്നുപോലെ തോന്നുന്നു—ഈശ്വരനോടുള്ള കടമ എന്ന പേരിലായാലും; എന്നാൽ രാമനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാൻ യാതൊരു യുക്തമായ കാരണവും എനിക്ക് കാണുന്നില്ല.
