तौ तत्र हत्वा चतुरो महामृगान्वराहमृश्यं पृषतं महारुरुम्।आदाय मेध्यं त्वरितं बुभुक्षितौवासाय काले ययतुर्वनस्पतिम्।।2.52.102।।
tau tatra hatvā caturo mahāmṛgān varāham ṛśyaṃ pṛṣataṃ mahārurum | ādāya medhyaṃ tvaritaṃ bubhukṣitau vāsāya kāle yayatur vanaspatim ||
അവിടെ വിശപ്പോടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ആ രണ്ടുപേരും നാലു മഹാമൃഗങ്ങളെ—വരാഹം, ഋശ്യ-മൃഗം, പൃഷതം (പുള്ളിമാൻ), മഹാരുരു—വധിച്ചു. ശുദ്ധമായ മാംസം വേഗത്തിൽ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ട് സന്ധ്യാസമയത്ത് വാസത്തിനായി ഒരു വൃക്ഷത്തിങ്കൽ ചെന്നു.
