न स्मराम्यप्रियं वाक्यं लोकस्य प्रियवादिनः।स कथं त्वत्कृते रामं वक्ष्यामि प्रियमप्रियम्।।।।

na smarāmy apriyaṃ vākyaṃ lokasya priyavādinaḥ |

sa kathaṃ tvatkṛte rāmaṃ vakṣyāmi priyam apriyam ||

ലോകത്തോട് പ്രിയമായി സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ശ്രീരാമനിൽ നിന്ന് ഒരു അപ്രിയവാക്കും ഞാൻ ഓർക്കുന്നില്ല; അങ്ങനെ ഇരിക്കെ, നിന്റെ കാരണത്താൽ എന്റെ പ്രിയരാമനോട് പ്രിയ-അപ്രിയമായ, വേദനിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വാക്കുകൾ ഞാൻ എങ്ങനെ പറയും?
