पितृमरणश्रवणं जलक्रिया च

Hearing of Daśaratha’s death and the libation rites at Mandākinī

अथ वासान्परित्यज्य तं सर्वेऽभिमुखास्स्वनम्।अप्येकमनसो जग्मुर्यथास्थानं प्रधाविताः।।।।

atha vāsān parityajya taṃ sarvē ’bhimukhāḥ svanam |

apy ēkamanaso jagmur yathāsthānaṃ pradhāvitāḥ ||

പിന്നീട് തങ്ങളുടെ പാളയങ്ങൾ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച്, ആ ശബ്ദം ഉയർന്ന ദിക്കിലേക്കു എല്ലാവരും ഏകാഗ്രചിത്തരായി തത്തത്ത സ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നു ഓടിച്ചെന്നു.
