जटायुवृत्तान्तः

Jatāyu’s Testimony and Rāma’s Grief

रामस्तस्य तु विज्ञाय बाष्पपूर्णमुखस्तदा।द्विगुणीकृततापार्तस्सीतासक्तां प्रियां कथाम्।।।।

rāmas tasya tu vijñāya bāṣpapūrṇamukhas tadā |

dviguṇīkṛtatāpārtaḥ sītāsaktāṃ priyāṃ kathām ||

അവനിൽ നിന്നു സീതയോടു ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട പ്രിയവൃത്താന്തം അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ രാമന്റെ മുഖം കണ്ണുനീരാൽ നിറഞ്ഞു; താപത്തിൽ പീഡിതനായ അവന്റെ ശോകം ഇരട്ടിയായി, ദുഃഖത്തിൽ അവൻ അശക്തനായി.
