मारीचवधोत्तरं रामस्य शङ्का-निमित्त-दर्शनं लक्ष्मण-निग्रहश्च

राक्षसं मृगरूपेण चरन्तं कामरूपिणम्।निहत्य रामो मारीचं तूर्णं पथि न्यवर्तत।।।।
rākṣasaṃ mṛgarūpeṇa carantaṃ kāmarūpiṇam |
nihatya rāmo mārīcaṃ tūrṇaṃ pathi nyavartata ||
മൃഗരൂപത്തിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കുകയും ഇഷ്ടരൂപം ധരിക്കുവാൻ കഴിവുള്ളവനുമായ രാക്ഷസൻ മാരീചനെ വധിച്ച ശേഷം, ശ്രീരാമൻ ഉടൻ തന്നെ വഴിയിലൂടെ മടങ്ങി തിരിഞ്ഞു.
