Jatayu’s Combat with Ravana

ततस्तु तं पत्ररथं महीतले निपातितं रावणवेगमर्दितम्।पुनः परिश्वज्य शशिप्रभानना रुरोद सीता जनकात्मजातदा।।।।

tatas tu taṃ pattrarathaṃ mahītale nipātitaṃ rāvaṇavegamarditam |

punaḥ pariśvajya śaśiprabhānanā ruroda sītā janakātmajā tadā ||

അപ്പോൾ ജനകനന്ദിനിയായ ചന്ദ്രമുഖിയായ സീത, രാവണന്റെ വേഗത്തിൽ മർദ്ദിതനായി ഭൂമിയിൽ വീണുകിടന്ന ആ പത്രരഥനായ ജടായുവിനെ വീണ്ടും ആലിംഗനം ചെയ്ത് ഹൃദയം പിളർക്കുന്ന വിധം കരഞ്ഞു.
