Ravana’s Journey to Maricha’s Hermitage
काञ्चनं रथमास्थाय कामगं रत्नभूषितम्।पिशाचवदनैर्युक्तं खरैः काञ्चनभूषणैः।।।।मेघप्रतिमनादेन स तेन धनदानुजः।राक्षसाधिपतिश्श्रीमान्ययौ नदनदीपतिम्।।।।
kāñcanaṃ ratham āsthāya kāmagaṃ ratnabhūṣitam |
piśācavadanair yuktaṃ kharaiḥ kāñcanabhūṣaṇaiḥ ||
meghapratimanādena sa tena dhanadānujaḥ |
rākṣasādhipatiḥ śrīmān yayau nadanadīpatim ||
ഇഷ്ടമെന്നപോലെ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന, രത്നാഭരണങ്ങളാൽ അലങ്കരിച്ച സ്വർണ്ണരഥം കയറി—പിശാചമുഖങ്ങളോടും സ്വർണ്ണാഭരണങ്ങളോടും കൂടിയ കഴുതകളാൽ യുക്തമായത്—മേഘഗർജനസമമായ നാദത്തോടെ, ധനദന്റെ അനുജനായ ശ്രീമാൻ രാക്ഷസാധിപൻ രാവണൻ നദീപതിയായ സമുദ്രത്തേയ്ക്ക് പുറപ്പെട്ടു.
