रक्षसां भीमरूपाणां सहस्राणि चतुर्दश।निहतानि शरै स्तीक्ष्णैस्तेनैकेन पदातिना।।।।अर्धाधिकमुहूर्तेन खरश्च सहदूषणः।

rakṣasāṃ bhīmarūpāṇāṃ sahasrāṇi caturdaśa | nihatāni śarais tīkṣṇais tenaikena padātinā ||

ardhādhikamuhūrtena kharaś ca sahadūṣaṇaḥ |

ഒറ്റയ്ക്കായി, കാല്നടയായി, മൂർച്ചയുള്ള അമ്പുകളാൽ ഭീകരരൂപികളായ പതിനാലായിരം രാക്ഷസന്മാരെ അവൻ സംഹരിച്ചു; പിന്നെ ഒരു മുഹൂർത്തവും പകുതിയും കഴിയുന്നതിന് മുൻപ് ഖരനും—ദൂഷണനോടുകൂടെ—വീണുപോയി.
