अरण्यकाण्डे एकोनत्रिंशः सर्गः

Sarga 29: Rama’s Admonition to Khara and the Shattering of the Mace

पापमाचरतां घोरं लोकस्याप्रियमिच्छताम्।अहमासादितो राजा प्राणान्हन्तुं निशाचर।।।।

pāpam ācaratāṃ ghoraṃ lokasyāpriyam icchatām |

aham āsādito rājā prāṇān hantuṃ niśācara ||

ഹേ നിശാചരാ! ഭീകര പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നവരും ലോകത്തിന് അപ്രിയമായതു ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവരുമായവരുടെ പ്രാണം ഹരിക്കുവാൻ രാജാവിന്റെ ആജ്ഞപ്രകാരം ഞാൻ ഇവിടെ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
