उत्पातदर्शनं खरसैन्यसमागमश्च

Omens of calamity and the approach of Khara’s army

यादृशा इह कूजन्ति पक्षिणः वनचारिणः।अग्रतो नो भयं प्राप्तं संशयो जीवितस्य च।।।।

yādṛśā iha kūjanti pakṣiṇaḥ vanacāriṇaḥ |

agratō no bhayaṃ prāptaṃ saṃśayo jīvitasya ca ||

ഇവിടെ വനവാസിയായ പക്ഷികൾ ഇങ്ങനെ കൂകുന്നതു കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ, മുന്നിൽ ഭയം വരുമെന്ന് ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു; നമ്മുടെ ജീവനും സംശയത്തിലായിരിക്കുന്നു.
