उत्पातदर्शनं खरसैन्यसमागमश्च

Omens of calamity and the approach of Khara’s army

तानुत्पातान्महोघोरानुत्थितान्रोमहर्षणान्।प्रजानामहितान्दृष्ट्वा रामो लक्ष्मणमब्रवीत्।।।।

tān utpātān mahā-ghorān utthitān roma-harṣaṇān | prajānām ahitān dṛṣṭvā rāmo lakṣmaṇam abravīt ||

അത്യന്തം ഭയങ്കരമായ ആ ഉത്പാതങ്ങൾ ഉയർന്നുവന്നത്—രോമാഞ്ചം വരുത്തുന്നതും ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് അഹിതകരവുമായതും—കണ്ട് ശ്രീരാമൻ ലക്ഷ്മണനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
